Padworth is a dispersed village that lies 8 miles east of Newbury and 9 miles southwest of Reading, with a population of 1,049. The A4, the river Kennet, the Kennet and Avon canal and the railway all run through the parish. The county border with Hampshire forms the southern boundary.
